or hacking might be a better word. The idea is to bury a dustbin, fill it with sand in readiness for a delivery of dirty organic carrots and parsnips. An experiment to see if this could be a way for storing them. Digging a hole that deep is almost impossible, the site is mostly rotten rock hence the hacking.

One of our group has placed an large order with an organic company near Edinburgh, this will be collected by an Oban delivery company and dropped off at his house near Dervaig. I think the order totalled around 200 kilograms.
