The Hole in the Wall

The Hole In The Wall is based in a very historical building in the centre of Shrewsbury Town. Originally part of a 13th century mansion, the pub still boasts some of the original windows and doors of "Shute Hall". The beer cellar still has partitions which are believed to be the cells of a very old debtors prison from centuries ago. Records from the 16th century tell us that the building was an old inn, once a favourite stopover for travelling performers — be sure to keep an eye out for “Lady Sarah” who is rumoured to haunt the building after hours.
