THANK GOODNESS!

We live up in the foothills of the mountains, on the edge of a city located in the valley. I often don't realize how high up we are until I take Scout's favorite walk, & look down into the valley & across to the mountains on the other side.

Today this is what I saw.  It first scared me because I thought it was smoke, but thankfully it was FOG.  We live 40 miles from the Pacific Ocean, 
& do not often see fog.  Today it will be 100F  (37.8C), with a heat advisory, & the stirrings of the Santa Ana winds, so it seems an odd day to have fog rolling into the valley. It rarely happens, even in the cool, damp Winter days..
