Parakeet's Apple Treat

It was beautifully calm and sunny at Fishers Green this afternoon. We were standing on the wobbly bridge when I spotted a magpie eating apples from a tree on the river bank. It was joined by a ring-necked parakeet and this bird seemed to be eating the apple flesh and spitting out the peel. A group of ducks and coots below were hoovering up the discarded bits from the water.

Ollie dog has stopped collecting a stick to take on our morning walk and chooses a windfall apple instead. She'll carry it for a while and I sometimes I throw it for a couple of times, then she will lie down and eat it with relish.
