The Dam
After a few days’ much-needed R&R, it was time to burst our ‘support bubble’ and to take Lucy back to Leeds and some sort of normality. So it was croissants and coffee - a rare treat these days - and an early start. It was a straightforward journey, with time to see Tom briefly before his afternoon virtual meeting - we dropped off a couple of plants for his garden, then walked with him to his local park where ate our picnic lunch, and caught up with his news. All at a distance, of course. ‘Anti-Social distancing’ is all very well, but it’s very hard to say goodbye to your son without a hug - especially when it’s the first time you’ve seen him in over 6 months, and seeming increasingly likely that you won’t be able to meet up again for another 6 months.
Then time to drop Lucy off at her new abode, and wish her well with the education course that starts late this afternoon.
Felt quite bereft after two goodbyes in quick succession. But it’s MrM‘s birthday, so miserable wasn’t an option. He drove us up through the Yorkshire Dales, and we enjoyed a walk round Scar House Reservoir in perfect September sunshine. Fish & chips in Masham before coming back home.
