A Place for Reflection
The weather forecast was for rain; so we stayed within Chester itself, and visited the Cathedral.
We enjoyed the scale of it, although there seemed to be a lot of movement and noise during our visit; however this only added to the sense of calm and tranquility when we entered the Cloisters and the Garth. The gardens were a rich green and the sculpture entitled "The Water of Life" (by Stephen Broadbent) added a well-crafted focus to the space. A good place for reflection.
I also liked the modern update of "The Last Supper" (by Peter Barnes). The mosaic effect is created from computer keyboard keys set in concrete (extra photo).
