Rainbow over Chemical Lock

The weather forecast for today was a lot more unsettled; so we stayed local to our holiday abode and took a walk along the Shropshire Union Canal Main Line.

The weather was fine, better than we could have expected, but it did start to rain as we walked back towards the lock called Chemical Lock on the outskirts of Chester.

The canal looked lovely and rural (extra photo); although in reality it was sandwiched between a housing estate and a water treatment works.  

Fortunately we stopped to look back after we passed the lock; as we were treated to a fantastic rainbow appearing to rise out of the canal.
