Littlehampton

The boys have a few days off school, february holidays and inservice days, so we decided at the last minute to drive down to the south coast and catch up with family there. Yesterday's drive was straightforward enough, mainly thanks to the perfect stop over place at my lovely husband's uncles's cottage which in the grand scheme of things is really just off the M6 but it is in a remote enough spot to feel like you really are deep in the lake district and far from the madding motorway.

After a leisurely morning of coffee, chat and cousinly capers we visited Littlehampton, drawn mainly because of some very grand advertising for some supposed Pancake Olympics. We quickly ditched the sporting attraction and instead spent our time exploring the Look & Sea Centre (see what they did there?!), got up close and personal with some swans, ate fish and chips and ice cream in the perfect beachside cafe and played for ages on the death slide in the park by the sea.

All in all, a lovely chilled out family Saturday.
