And another in the series 'I didn't know that' - only when I read a local news story about the 'Discovery Garden' at Ocean Terminal was under threat of removal did I realise that it was a thing (as opposed to simply the way in to the car park). There's an information board, saying it was originally planted up with lots of exotic species that Scottish plant-hunters brought back from their travels. Don't think it's been maintained - mostly overgrown hedging now. I've seen a lot more folk making use of it as a quiet place to sit since lockdown started.

At least they didn't include Rhododendron ponticum.
