Saracen Foundry

this drinking fountain with the makers name on the ornate scalloped bowl was constructed by MacFarlane's Saracen Foundry for Queen Victoria's silver jubilee in Gourock near the seafront (see extra)...the foundry was in Possilpark Glasgow and was the most important manufacturer of ornamental ironwork in Scotland....10 employees in 1872 became 10,000 in 1891 which attests to their success....their work can still be seen across the world
