Silly Saturday ...

... brrrr!

Our first full day here at Lake Lure has been fantastic.  Details on the picture above to follow ...

For our first day here we usually take it easy and don't plan too much. We have been vacationing here at Lake Lure since the late 1990's and love it here!  In the town of Lake Lure there is a Flowering Bridge that we simply love.  We remember when it was just a bridge! 

After spending some time on the bridge we drove up to Chimney Rock State Park - Rumbling Bald.  This is a popular destination of rock climbing .... we didn't do that of course! We had our lunch here before returning to Morse Park to walk the trails.  Some of this trail walks along the lake and it's very peaceful.  Although there were a lot of other people enjoying the beautiful sunshine we were able to maintain our proper social distance. 

We saw some great wildlife on our walk here ... including a Ruby-throated hummingbird!  YAY!  We will return to this park later in the week when it might not be so busy. 

We returned to our condo for supper and then went down to the lake for the sunset.  That's where I took this silly Saturday shot.  These young (and I stress young!) girls were having fun in the lake!  Now ... I don't know the exact temperature of Lake Lure but I'm sure it's COLD!  Silly girls!  I asked permission from their parents before taking some pictures. 

When we returned to our condo the sun was still setting over the lake .... please see extra taken from our deck.
