Trudeau's Folly

Over-priced and so
questionable in purpose
the pipeline appears.

~ carliewired

I'm up and out early today. The sunrise was worth a look or two.

After a quick stop at the grocery store, I continued out to the airport area to see what was happening with the pipeline development. I see it's being worked on today, a Sunday.

Our Liberal government decided to buy this pipeline for some $4.5 billion dollars in 2018 from  Kinder Morgan in the US. (who must have laughed all the way to the bank)  It has attracted a good deal of criticism, from environmental groups, indigenous groups and the province of British Columbia,  but not enough to squash this project. It is intended to deliver low-grade oil from the province of Alberta through the province of British Columbia to the Pacific Ocean. The dream is that foreign interests want the product and it will produce revenue for both the province of Alberta and the Federal government.

The Province of British Columbia has voiced its opposition citing possible environmental damage to lands and coast line. The Federal government has ploughed ahead. Protest is limited now, as the signs posted will indicate.

I believe it will be a very expensive mistake that will weigh on Canadian taxpayers for generations. Our Prime Minister speaks out of both sides of his mouth when he pretends to be a climate change leader while supporting pipeline development.

Here, the pipeline will cut through the east end of our airport, as shown in these photos.

The cost of construction has been estimated by Kinder Morgan to be $7.4 billion. Will we ever know the true cost to the Canadian taxpayer?
