Wet Sunday Robin
Not quite as sharp as I would like, but it was through the window. We’ve had a lot of rain today.
Still, I managed to get across to the farm shop with Mark my neighbour and we had a good catch up.
I’ve not really spoken to him much this week since he went to Brighton last Monday for his late partners, ex partners, late partners funeral.
Wow, that sounds complicated doesn’t it. And I’m fairly sure there should be some apostrophes in there somewhere but hey ho.
Basically they all stayed friends after their respective splits. And it was 31 years ago. I must admit I got confused first time round that Mark told me, but now I know the individuals in person and it kind of makes sense!
Anyway, my positive for today is this. As Mark and I were talking over a cuppa at the farm shop, he mentioned he probably won’t go to Portugal for Christmas with his family. So it got me to thinking about Christmas. This year, as my mum is no longer with us, there is no reason we shouldn’t skip off for a few days. And we’ve got the week between Christmas and New Year free of bookings. So I came home and mentioned it to Callum, and were going to have a few days away in Scotland.
It’s not something we would normally consider, as neither of us like crowds and the hotels are just so expensive in Edinburgh then. But of course this year that is not the case. No big gatherings and the quick look I’ve had seems some reasonable prices at the hotels.... some investigations to be made :-)
