Heard before Seen

I hear the Northern Flickers often but this year they are not visiting our suet or bird bath.......this one landed near the top of the birch tree......Birch Borer is killing this tree slowly.....the branch the Flicker is on is dead and it will be removed by a tree service the end of this month. I would completely remove the two birch trees in our backyard, but I want to keep them as long as I can because the birds love them. 

I know this isn't a great photo, but it is all I got.

Our daughter left this morning and it is quiet here; I don't know why, but I am really tired......I hope I am sleepy at bedtime too....often I am not......frustrating.
