Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2020 Sunday — Pumpkins

This first Sunday of October we were in search of a pumpkin. I want to experiment with painting a pumpkin.

The last time I was in a grocery store, I bought a small pumpkin, but since then I have decided to paint pumpkins and I want Mr.Fun to join me in the fun or the experiment, whichever it turns out to be — hopefully both.

So we found “Brookshire Farm” which is located on Los Osos Valley Road. They have a pumpkin patch that rivals any I have ever seen. Zillions of pumpkins all arranged according to their type and lots of activities — corn maze, tractor pulling a trailer ride, and on and on. There was a snack bar and a gift shop.

I was most impressed, though, when we first arrived and thought there was an admission fee. When I saw the price tag for seniors $8.00 each, I looked at Mr. Fun and said, “Let’s get outta here!” All I had wanted to do was take some photos and buy a pumpkin or two.

As we were walking away one of the workers came out of the admission booth and followed us to tell us it was free to go in. So we thanked her and went in. The price we saw at the entrance was to do all the activities — I have no desire to walk thru a corn maze.

We had a good time at Brookshire Farm’s Pumpkin Patch.

Good night from
California’s Central Coast,
