The barber of Seville....
So much for yesterday’s dry turn . Back to rain this morning.
Once it faired up a bit , got Kev and Ross to load up the last of the barley in the shed next door into 4 trailers and bring it over here. Don’t know when it will get dried though as the grain drier is still needing repaired and they will need to order up the parts.
The vet was out at a sick calf this morning so got him to take blood from 5 blks for the annual BVD herd test while he was here.
After lunch , we went back next door and made a start on sorting out the 90 blks we brought in last weekend.
They get their backs clipped to stop them sweating, then a vaccination to help prevent pneumonia and a pour on wormer along their back line, which is absorbed through the skin and controls various gut and lung worms and also external parasites like lice.
Did half of them today, hopefully get the rest tomorrow .
Ross was the hair cut man today- a bit rough and ready, but he is getting the hang of it . All part of the learning experience !
Emptied the rain gauge again tonight and that’s nearly another inch since last night, 3 inches since Saturday . Think that’s enough now !
