Colours on the moor....

are just as spectacular as when the heather turned it purple. All the hues of Autumn are there.
This morning was lovely, watching the mist roll back and the sun come out. The birds are not singing and it seems empty, but walk off piste and they appear, Stonechats, Pipits, flocks of Teal and Mallard and a huge flock of Crossbills. Good to see!
At home, three squirrels have spent the day feeding, chasing each other, leaping from tree to tree and burying food.
The Woodpecker has been at the feeder much of yesterday and today. He and the squirrels tolerate each other.
