I've been painting again this afternoon and have managed to finish the three walls; tomorrow I'll go and get some white paint to do the window wall...  

I was worried I wouldn't be able to take the blind down, but it was much easier than I thought.  I've no plan to replace it for now although its really the wrong colour...
