Tourists

If I am not mistaken, this is the first week of February school vacation for the Northeast and Southeast of France, so Moutiers has been preparing since Christmas for the mass influx of skiers starting this weekend. Outside the train station, the mayor (city tax payers) have paid for a heated tent to be put outside because our poor little station can't hold the volume of people. Our supermarket has been not a little bit reorganized to showcase local products and produce, from handmade artisan crafts to crappy mass produced mugs like these. And they'll all go from the shelves, I know. Even on a normal weekend when we food shop late on Saturday, the shelves are empty and we have to adjust our grocery list according to what's still there and what we'll have to come back for another time. Today is Friday, so we got in nice and early and plan to stay in hibernation tomorrow dying the mayhem.

We're both still sick, me with the flu and Spencer with strep throat. We went to the doctor together first thing yesterday morning and have personalized cocktails of antibiotics, nasal cleaners, painkillers and the likes. You can imagine the romance... Although anyone notice the M next to my name now? I got a shiny new Blip Membership for Valentine's Day :)
