The beech tree.
Oot n aboot this morning. No excuse for taking this photo - I knew the beech tree would be lovely. I worked here in the 1970s, it was legendary then. The mound is between the former big house (museum etc now) and former stables. It’s suggested it may contain the remains of a former defeated garrison, (late 1700s were a time of unrest!), it’s allegedly based on the burial mound at Marathon in Ancient Greece.
I listened to a podcast when walking, and ended up in a WhatsApp chat with a former colleague as the theme was common to us. He was well today.
Back home I watched the First Minister’s coronavirus restrictions statement from Holyrood. Restrictions are targeted as recently intimated. Reducing the opportunity for folks to gather hopefully will slow transmission. As always, it’s political and controversial.
Family FaceTime and chat - more flu jabs and the restrictions..... although we did end up using the iTranslator App..... a long story. And a laugh.
