Another dipper
Our plan this afternoon after the rain stopped, was to go back to Dovedale to see the dippers again. However, we weren’t quite prepared for what we found.
On arriving at the car park, the attendant collected our £3 and then told us that the river had “gone over in a couple of places”. Not being quite sure what this meant we continued with our plan, but soon found out - both sides of the river were flooded with waders being needed, or wellies at least, so we didn’t get very far.
Luckily the dippers were still very confiding and arrived noisily soon after we reached the flooded section of the path. We spent a lovely few minutes taking pictures and just watching them forage around. There wasn’t too much swimming from them today as the river was probably flowing too fast.
The rain came again so we headed back home, but I was pleased that at least we were able to get out for an hour or so.
