Autumn archway
A wonderful walk through the grounds of Chatsworth. Explored the man made lakes and aqueducts above the house that feed the cascades in the garden and supply the electric for the house. All very clever, ornate and practical.
However the archway with the autumn colour had to be the winner for blipping today.
Went for a wander round Bakewell this pm. Should have been the Bakewell Wool show this weekend but obviously it was cancelled.
Drove through Edensor on the way back. The Duke of Devonshire (who owns Chatsworth) also has his country estate of Bolton Abbey, and various place names in Keighley reflect this, Edensor Road, Devonshire Street, Cavendish Street, Burlington Sheds, for example.
A few showers this morning but all short and sweet, and didn’t spoil a wonderful day. Tired humans and especially tired Reggie!
