Brett Williams
Phil at work and I headed down to Southampton to watch AFC Totton play Bristol Manor Farm. Laura the WAG had advised us to support the home team as her husband was mates with Totton's manager. Halfway through the first half I thought I recognised the Totton number 10, and sure enough, it was Brett Williams who scored 39 goals for the Mighty Shots in his 89 appearances during the first couple of years after our relegation from League 2. Avid readers will recall that Brett Williams was the 'hero' in the opening chapter of my book, Slab Life, which is still available on Amazon (if cheap plug's are allowed in blip-land!)
Totton had the game won by half-time as they cruised to a 3-0 lead with Brett scoring a brace to take his tally to 6 goals in 5 appearances this season. Sadly it looks as if he might miss the next couple as he appeared to be in quite a lot of pain when he left the field halfway through the second half clutching his shoulder.
