Autumn colour.
As we pulled up at the Lodge today this "White Bottlebrush" (Fothergilla major) was a blaze of colour. I decided I would make a blip of it before we left. When I eventually wandered out to see what I could get a realised that among the blaze of gold there were 3 or 4 leaves with this bring red. They just had to be included.
The "White Bottlebrush" describes the spring flowers a more correct name would be Mountain Witch Alder. A native of South East it seems to tolerate most conditions eventually making a shrub a couple of metres high.
