Sunshine but a promise of stormy weather heading our way or just passed over , hard to say which .
The view is from our attic window, the house opposite gets the full force of the late sun , you can just see our house starting to cast a shadow as the sun moves round . The  large beech tree in the background always looks majestic in the autumn . Sitting motionless on the very crest of the tree is a lone magpie , you can just make out the  black speck.
We drove back and forth over through the  stunning Peak District this weekend and had some quality time with our granddaughter, a very cheerful little girl of 10 months.  We also managed a short walk up a hillside with our grandson and his parents . So am feeling very pleased , blessed even .
The views were at their best , the lakes , the yorkshire peaks , the Howgills and Snowdonia .
I wonder what tomorrow will bring when we get to hear the latest pile of .........  from the government. It’s not  going to be good news for those of us living in the deprived , densely populated northwest that’s for sure.
We are meant to be having a week away in St Ives in a weeks time but I’m not expecting it to happen . It’s not the end of the world , just a bit disappointing. I really feel for all the folk who have really suffered already through this pandemic and also those who have made big sacrifices.
I could say so much more but there’s little point as most of you who read my journal know already.
Hope you have all had happy moments over the weekend and feel ready to start a new week .
