The weather has cleared and you can see part of our gorgeous view.
The excitement today was deterring a Great Blue heron from eating our fish.
We have a mechanical " scarecrow" which is activated by motion.. It's a water canon which sends out an arc of water in a semicircle and frightens off, hopefully , herons or raccoons. In the winter this is not a problem as the fish go to the bottom of the pond and move very little. The depth in the middle of the pond is between four and five feet, and it's mucky, so the fish are very hard to see. It's Spring now so things are starting to move and the heron was determined to fish. I can't blame him/her but he has the ocean to fish in, so I insist he leave our fish alone.
