George
When we took the children home we managed a moment between the raindrops to check on the emu family. George is so observant and always regards us quite intently. I enjoy his gaze. It is breeding season for emus and you can hear Mildred drumming from a good distance away. She puffs out her feathers and struts up and down. Willow is quite flighty and darts about the enclosure hoping one of her parents will play with her. We watch for evidence of egg laying. The emus have two shelters but seldom seem to use them. Hopefully they will.
It was a great tea time today as all the grandchildren were here together. They all went home sporting face paint and seemed very happy about that.
