Dawn View from the Hills
This morning I met Rickstar228, a fellow Blipper and Camera Club Member, in the Wither Hills Farm Park Car Park at 6.am sharp. We set off in the dark on a Blip Trip, heading up the steep track to our first stop near the "Rotary Lookout". There we captured some low light images and then waited for the dawn.
This image takes in the view to the west from the Lookout area. The patches of dark green down on the flat Wairau Plains are extensive vineyards. As you can see, the grapes are starting to sweeten up and attract the birds thus there is white netting covering significant areas of the vineyards.
The mountains in the distance is the Richmond Range which is heavily forested with pine plantations and native bush. They are in stark contrast to the grassed, dry, golden Wither Hills, on the southern side of the Wairau Plains.
All in all we spent three hours up there on the hill and made many images. Then the challenge was in deciding which image to blip!
