Adie's Station Demolition
A fairly windy day, with some showers this morning. A brighter afternoon, and calmer this evening.
Another day working in the museum, and another fairly busy day. Good to see plenty of locals coming back. Walkies this evening with Sammy, and then mam and dad popped by for a quick chat in the garden. Bro Jonny was working late in Scalloway, and headed out for a walk after.
The demolition continues on the old youth centre, and it's fairly come down since my last blip. Once the asbestos sheets were removed, it revealed the old wooden cladding, most likely from the original building, and would have been a nice building on the waterfront. It was built for the old herring station, Adie's, over 120 years ago, if not older. It's giving the neighbouring buildings a new view to appreciate. Taken at Adie's yard, Main Street, Scalloway.
