Hidden Delights
Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,
For me, corner shops are like treasure troves. I’m always amazed by the eclectic mix of products on the shelf. My local post office/shop is tiny. Other than stationery and confectionery, there is only room for one small shelf of groceries.
And the corner of wonder.
Which is where I happened to be standing as I queued to post a parcel. It caught my eye and I wondered how many people have EVER gone in looking for:
A fold up luggage carrier - “perfect for festivals”
An adhesive number 8 or 9 (no other numbers)
Hemming tape
L plates for a hen party
But then it started to work its magic on me. Thoughts of “that might come in handy” pervaded my brain when I spotted a double egg slicer (hidden amongst the lightbulbs). There were even handy pictures on the front to show that an egg can be sliced on its side OR on its bum.
Thankfully the queue moved forward and the spell was broken. I had just started imagining myself at a festival pulling along my bag on the fold up luggage carrier. It was beautifully decorated with 8s and 9s!
