Diary of an Edinburgher

Busy Archie

Rain overnight, and a moist morning, which did not put off Archie’s student vet from taking him out for a big walk. In fact, the morning became sunnier, so she was right to chance it. I know she loves getting out with him.

When he came home he had a bath, a towel dry and a snooze, before Elizabeth came to take him out again in the afternoon. If he was too tired, he didn’t show it.

I learned that my new tricycle will be winging its way to me early next week! Very exciting.

JR went down the the gallery to pick up one of our paintings which was being re-framed, as it’s now in a grouping, since we have gained wall space. It was to be hung near the other two paintings (by the same artist), and so needed to have a similar frame.

Lesson Learned Today: To reframe a painting to match existing frames, one CANNOT rely on a photo to judge the right ‘gold’ colour. NO! One needs to bring the actual frame to compare. I have to admit, JR suggested this, but I dismissed the idea as being unnecessary. Well, we got the newly-framed painting back today. And NO, it does NOT fit with the others - it’s a completely different gold colour, but better for the room. Sooo... two more paintings needing reframed. *sigh*

In the afternoon I popped along to see Uncle A. He’s been getting in a muddle with all his technology. His printer has been playing up, and his computer, and his iPad. I’m pleased to say that I did manage to get quite a bit of it sorted. But really, it’s so confusing, and easily put wrong again if the wrong button is pressed. It’s very frustrating, as it’s his main way of keeping in touch with nieces and nephews in faraway places. And, of course, blipfoto.

This is the new side table, which matches the coffee table, which matches the cupboard sideboard.

561 steps today. Must try harder.
