Hanging Valley Sunset
One image from each end of the day today. We started bright and early and went just a mile or so to the harbour for sunrise. I struggled a bit with technical aspects (my tripod head refused to take the camera plate for some reason. It decided after a bit that it would and it been fine since. John in the meantime had trouble with waves trying to soak him. I don't know what he was doing but he did look a bit damp! My extra is of this morning's sunrise.
We returned to the hotel for an hour then went off in search of breakfast and found a nice place in town that did us a decent full english. We went back to the hotel and chilled for a bit before heading off across the border and back into Devon to the Valley of Rocks, where we had a walk and a recce for later. It's a very impressive place. I believe it's hanging valley and unusual because it runs parallel with the coastline. We walked around and explored for a while before going off to get a bite to eat in Lynton. When we returned we climbed the zigzag path up Hallerday Hill which is a good position to look down on the jagged rocks in a westerly direction for the sunset. We were in plenty of time so set up and chatted while waiting for the sunset. It was nice and warm in the sun until it started dipping down and I soon put on my jacket and woolly hat.
My main blip is a two shot panorama to get in the length of the main ridge of rocks and the headland where the sun sets at this time of year. We had a visit from a few of the local feral goats before we went down. fWe returned to Minehead and finished the day with a meal in The Old Ship Aground. We have more planned for tomorrow before we finish this part of the trip.
