Vegetable garden

I hadn’t expected the garden to be open this late in the afternoon, dusk, and the gates closing, I think is marked later at the weekend when the park is busiest. These cabbages and kale are lush and their greens and purples make a change to all the yellows and oranges every where else.
I also saw the heron carefully stepping across the river which made me realise how shallow it is after several dry days. That is due to change on Monday.
On another occasion I must get a close up of the scarecrow with a fine jackdaw on his shoulder.
