Bad day at the office

‘Someone’s cut through a power cable’, wrote Luke in a message when he was urgently trying to find me in the building. The power and water had gone off and we were being asked to vacate the office immediately. I don’t enjoy working alone so I decamped to Sara’s flat to work instead.

I can never be quoted on it because the patchwork of university land in Cambridge is forever confusing, but I think this is part of Emmanuel College. I poked my head through this gate just a stone’s throw from the bus station and post office, and was reminded how many buildings like this are just hidden from the hustle and bustle.
