The Dark Peak in Autumn

It has been overcast all day with a grey sky. We walked today on the edge of the Dark Peak District up a track that follows a route above the valley to a shooting lodge and butts built into the peat, which is very exposed in parts. I assume there are to be more shoots soon given the number of grouse around. My two images for the day show a view of the area and a small wood on the edge of the road where we parked. This afternoon I enjoyed getting back to saxophone practice and sorting out some tunes for our Saturday trio to play.
