Burnham Beeches
We decided to take a drive out to see how the Autumn colours were developing. We took the 40 minute drive to Burnham Beeches. We have never been there before, so this was a bit of an investigatory visit.
There were plenty of fallen golden leaves on the ground, but the tree canopy was still largely green. The ferns, though, were a glorious mixture of green and orangey-brown.
It might be worth returning in a couple of weeks, but today's trial visit demonstrated to me that I really need to take my tripod. The light levels were quite low in places so, for handheld photography, I needed to raise the ISO to higher levels than I felt the subject deserved.
