Worth a Blip!...
...as it's not often that I do the cooking. When I did the online shop a red cabbage jumped out of the screen and reminded me how I love it cooked the German way. So, I've chopped the onions which will be fried then the chopped apples and red cabbage will be added with a little water and a little salt and whole cloves. Once it's cooked to perfection I will sprinkle coarse ground black pepper.
Served with boiled potatoes and vegan burgers with gravy.
We returned to the house today as we have prescriptions to collect and a mountain of washing including the rugs off the boat to do.
Nearly all the quilt fabrics have arrived except I think a Harry Potter one...did I actually order it...?
It's a cold wet day. A good excuse to stay cosy and sketch and knit. The third series of Harlots starts tonight so we have that to look forward to.
The news is as ever, quite depressing. All those people facing little or no income as they go into lock down again. I don't know how families will manage and with Christmas coming.
I remember one Christmas when my Dad had been made redundant, I must have been 14 or 15. Mum always liked to spoil us at Christmas, but that one time she said that they had no money coming in and we could each choose one thing for Christmas. I chose a lovely musical jewellery box from Woolworths. It was wooden and painted black with a rose and a bird on it. I treasured that box until it started to crack a few years ago. I took a photo of it before it went on the fire. I have a FB page called 'My Journey to Minimalism' and that's where I have photos of things that were special but no longer worth keeping. That way I have a record of my past posessions but don't have to have them cluttering up the house. :-)
I used to be a collector (not a hoarder!) but came to a point where I felt I had to get rid of stuff as I don't want someone else to have to do it when I eventually pop my clogs - hopefully in the far distant future!
Anyway, I went of on a tangent there - or as my S-i-L once said 'I went off on a tandem' :-D)))
Right, I'd better get tea made before the novelty wears off!
Thank you for all the lovely comments and stars and hearts.
I love looking at everyone else's blips too. What a lovely, friendly community Blip is.
Stay safe folks ;-)X
