Leafy curtain

We almost had a glimpse of sunshine this afternoon but then the clouds piled in again. However, it stayed dry so I went for a wee wander up the hill behind our house (extra), taking my camera with me. I was really taken with this view looking upwards through the branches of a young beech tree. The leaves were overlapping, yet they still allowed the light through as they are so fine.
I tried a new recipe for venison casserole today and was very pleased with the result so I will be doing that one again. I think I probably counteracted the healthy low-fat aspect of venison by making dumplings to cook on top for the last 20 minutes, but it was worth it!
