Lake Rotoroa

I had hoped to get away for the weekend but things didn't work out that way. Instead, I got away for the day - to Lake Rotoroa in the Nelson Lakes National Park.

Utterly beautiful. It was soooooo hot I was almost tempted to don the togs and take a cooling dip but the enormous number of sandflies and bees put me off.

I'll add it to my list of places to visit and stay at for a little later when the sandfly numbers have gone down a bit - though I figure that might mean replacing them with snow and frost :(

I can't believe how fast the weekends go - back to work again tomorrow.
