A walk in the park
I was feeling a bit down today with a definite case of man flu, or more precisely a cold. After a pleasant and leisurely breakfast I was feeling a bit stuffed. Both from the cold and from breakfast so we went for a walk in Duthie Park.
The photograph a monument to Elizabeth Duthie who gave the park to Aberdeen, and to Princess Beatrice who opened the park in 1883. For the last several months, at least six but maybe more, the park has been undergoing restoration back to its former glory. The money has come from the Heritage Fund and other sources. Whether the city will be able to afford to maintain the park when the work is finished is another matter.
After a walk around the park we adjourned to the warmth of the WInter Garden to thaw out. I expect the restoration work is planned to be completed by the summer, whichever day that may be. The work must have cost a fortune.
