As the day has worn on my mood has improved. I got the house cleaned which always makes me feel better and now I have cheese enchilada's in the oven baking away. Homemade red sauce and all. The flicker was kind enough to hang out in my cherry tree long enough for me to get a couple of pretty good shots of him. I love his orange tail feathers showing. I'm still leaving my earlier journal entry and I'll have to go back and add the pill bottles in the extra so everything makes sense. That photo is on the phone but I'll get it put back in here so the lower part of the journal makes sense.
Saturday morning I sit down and put the drugs into the little daily dispensing things. My two little dogs are old and sick. I know I've posted that Pixie has an autoimmune disorder, she's been having a real rough time lately with a couple of blood transfusions and last week she had pancreatitis. This week she is fighting what the vet thinks is an infected gallbladder. What's not pictured are her two meds that have to be refrigerated.
Jumbo at the ripe old dog age of 16 and a few months has developed Cushing's syndrome and cardiac issues. Most of the drugs here are his.
Today arranging the drugs makes me sad. I know that Jumbo's time is getting near, he doesn't always want to eat but is happy when he does. Pixie thankfully is feeling much better but we are not out of the woods until she starts to make her own blood again. Her reticulates, which are baby red blood cells, are elevated which is good but the vet needs to see more at her next check in two weeks.
I'm thankful that I have a good job that pays me well enough to take care of the fuzzy little kids. I guess that is the light, I can do this for them for all the love they have given me.
