Non-breeding American Goldfinch
I don't think I have ever seen one of these out of it's bright yellow plumage, or maybe I just haven't been paying attention. The cream and black wing is really pretty.
Life has been rough lately, my little Pixie pup who is so often my picture of choice has not been doing well. Yesterday we went back for a CBC and while she is FINALLY starting to make her own blood she now has skin lesions! The vet says that her skin is calcifying in places as a reaction to either the prednisone or the new immunosuppressant drug. This means we will start the prednisone taper and we have to change immunosuppressant therapy. Scary times ahead for my little Pixie for sure, hopefully the new drug picks up where the current one leaves off and she will still make her own blood. Other then having to wear the cone of shame though you wouldn't know that she is sick, she is behaving like her normal little self. I think with her illness that has been the worst part. When she makes blood there is absolutely nothing wrong with her, but when she is sick man is she ever sick.
On the upside of life my youngest brother welcomed in a baby boy they named Lane, I'll get to go meet him in early December so that is exciting.
