Neist

We had a disturbed night due to the high wind which rocked the van about.

This morning we headed round the north point visiting the Flora MacDonald memorial and getting soaked by a squally shower- we had rain and sun and wind all day.

Especially wind - we headed out to Neist Point. Quite a lot of the drive today was on single track roads with passing places and it was busy, considering it is the end of October. Of course it is Scottish half term and also some of England. There was enough space to park so we got out to walk to the lighthouse. The gale was so gusty and fierce I kept getting blown off course but with the aid of my walking pole and Mr C’s arm we battled our way down steeply. The cliffs opposite (blip) were stunning and the light changed constantly as the sun came and went.

I refused to have a lunch stop in the van at the cliff top as we couldn’t keep our balance due to it shaking so we headed back towards Dunvegan till there was a more sheltered place. Just as we stopped Ella FaceTimed me to show me all the decorations she and Nathaniel had made for Halloween. They had made cobwebs with Slime, painted spiders and so on. They were also showing me daft videos they’d made - they had discovered Time Lapse.

We are staying at Kinloch site near Dunvegan, right on the loch side. The wind is still blowing hard and the light is lovely between the showers.

Skye is certainly showing us its many moods!
