Knit one purl one

This is something I heard all through my childhood. Everyone knitted clothes for their children or grandchildren. I tried and never could master it.

With my newly purchased two knitting needles, some cheap wool and the help of Davina from sheepandstitch I have just cast on, knitted two rows and completed two rows of the elusive purl Stitch!

My excitement levels are mounting, colour combinations and woollen items are flashing around in my head. I always run before I can walk.

Bring on the knitted trouser suit. I had one once before, aged 11, it was tangerine.
