Trafalgar Day
An important date on the calendar for all serving and ex Royal Navy personnel. To mark it the Royal Naval Association in Falmouth asked the town council to fly our house flag which they graciously agreed to do.
Rather fitting really, beneath the flag is the first pavement insert of the Trafalgar Way. These inserts are placed so as to follow the route that Lt Lapointiere of HMS Pickle rode using a carriage on his journey from Falmouth to London to deliver the news of the Trafalgar victory and Nelsons death.
The run up to the start of the November Ceremonies or Period of Remembrance starts this week with the First Poppy Laying planned for Saturday.
