WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

A Busy Day

Last night at tea time Frank changed the clocks, then I asked him what time it was and when he looked at the clock he realised he had put them forward! So then he had to go round and put them all back, but then forgot that he now needed to put them back 2 hours! Eventually he got them all sorted.

This morning we woke up about 5am to the sound of torrential rain. I had a migraine so took a pill and while I waited for it to work its magic Frank made us coffee.
By the time we got up at 6.30 the rain had stopped. We had breakfast and by 8am we were out with Bella May for morning walkies.

I hadn't really had any plans for today but ended up making a load of date and walnut scones, curried lentil spread and coleslaw. So that was my stint in the kitchen done!

We also tidied up the garden and went to get some compost.
I put the begonia corms to bed in the cellar and planted the spring bulbs I bought ages ago.

Frank went for a pint at our local - The Black Horse - which is very safe. They are following all the rules, table service, social distancing etc. The owner - Gary - who is also the chef sat at a distance and chatted to Frank about the meals they serve and when Frank asked him about their provision for vegans and vegetarians he said he could make anything we wanted as he is also vegan - for the same ethical reasons that we are -  even though they serve meat in the pub. He also told Frank that he doesn't allow hunting parties in his pub. He was the 2nd person today to tell us they were vegan, the other was a lady called Barbara who we met on our walk and she was married to a sheep and beef farmer.

Yesterday the inktober prompt was 'Buddy' so I drew my best buddy - Frank ;-)
Now I have to think about tomorrow's prompt - 'Hide'.

It's been a good day.
Now I'm going to watch a bit of telly.

Goodnight ;-)X
