Sunday
In the UK we turned the clocks back one hour in the early hours of this morning, or at bedtime which is more sensible. The reasons for this quaint habit are lost in the mists of history. It's just one of those archaic habits us Brits do twice a year because we always have done so and no one has the sense to say "Stop, don't do it, it's not necessary!".
As a result the mornings are light, whilst one is still in bed, and the evenings are dark very early. The light mornings soon start being dark, the evenings get darker earlier, so WHY DO WE DO IT?
At least with the change of clocks in the autumn we have an excuse to light the wood burning stove to cosy down in front whilst the outside is dark, wet and cold. Ann also felt it was the right time to move some of the pictures around. John Lennon, one of our largest framed posters, fell off the wall, luckily undamaged, poster and floor, Marilyn Monroe ended up in a corner on her own and New York over the fireplace.
