Enough winter!
Our plans to go to S&D's for a family brunch have been cancelled because of yet another winter storm . This one involves very dry blowing snow, poor visibility and a high wind warning. All those branches hanging halfway on and halfway off the trees that snapped last week are really a menace in this type of weather. So, we'll go next Saturday morning for the feast. It's better, with all of us taking turns looking out her windows and speculating on the nasty drive back home, the morning would be ruined a bit. She & D live just a short way from here, but it's all back road travel, and those roads are white and untouched at the moment.
T's cold is better, but still rather nasty, so we'll have another lazy day with books and cats and rest. Tomorrow is a holiday as well, so it's a good weekend to pamper a cold. I made chicken soup yesterday which helped.
I went out in to feed the birds and snapped some photos, a Mourning Dove and sweet Tufted Titmouse posed nicely. It's only about 19 degrees F, then add the windchill, so I didn't stay out too long.
Another chapter in the patriotic squirrel nest caper. It seems the wind has blown the small stolen flag out of the nest. I wonder if they will snag it and replace it? The nest could be compromised from the wind as well. I took this shot from the window, safe and warm inside.
Downton Abbey finale tonight. I think it's the episode shown in the UK as the Christmas special.
