Look, but don't touch!

We went for a late morning walk on Snelsmore Common (long with half on Newbury judging by the carpark).  We were fortunate to get into a space near the entrance; rather than get caught in the main parking area.

However, once on the Common, there was plenty of room for everybody, and we had a great walk.

I was pleased to spot this undamaged red cap mushroom hidden in the shade of a birch tree, as any others we saw had been nibbled by the resident wildlife.  We also enjoyed the trees caught in the low sun, and the dappled light on the ferns (extra photos).
