another day
To get a holiday decoration I drove to another neighborhood. I lucked out, there were multiple houses with decorations on this street - including this lovely little pantry. Little lending libraries have become a thing. Take a book. Put a book in. Related are little pantries. This is a charming little yellow box filled with cans of food and a sign inviting us to take what we need and give what we can, strung with lights.
So beautiful, so loving, in a country with 54 million experiencing hunger.
My boss is off to Uganda. I'm not worried about him in Uganda, I'm worried about him on the plane. Planes seem to be safe - if everyone keeps their @#^ mask on.
And I'm ending the day on the highest note. My co-worker from my last job who let me photograph her - and then her daughter - and then her sisters - her sister just wrote to me.
"I'm reaching out to ask you about a photograhy opportunity. A friend of mine is enamored of your photographs. I use one as my Linked In image and she raves about it and asked me about the photographer..
She would like to hire your services for a photo session. She lives in West Orange, NJ and would be willing to pay you for your services and your travel. I told her that I would ask you."
Envision lots of fist-pumping and glee.
CAN YOU IMAGINE????? What a compliment!! That is FOUR HOURS away!
I mean, let us just ignore practicality and pandemics for a moment and revel.
WOW
